We are concerned VOLUNTEER NEIGHBORS who live in Green Valley and are working together in a grassroots effort to improve landscaping appearance, sustainability and cost efficient maintenance standards.
Like you, we have noticed a decline in the appearance of our green spaces and landscaping along main roads. We are excited to make change, bridging the gap between the city and our neighbors, on the importance of our LLMD and the need for funding to return Green Valley to the beautifully landscaped area.
Green Valley LLMD 13 (Landscaping, Lighting, Maintenance District) assessments maintain the appearance, safety and property values in Green Valley.
Green Valley is diverse and expansive; over one million square feet of aging landscaping and irrigation and 2,500 parcels (home & business).
Many of the Green Valley parcel assessments have remained unchanged since the 1990s. Meanwhile the cost of materials and labor has significantly increased. The current assessment level is not sufficient for basic maintenance or to replace much of the irrigation and landscaping that has reached the end of useful service.
Prop 218 requires a majority vote from property owners to pass. The 2023 vote failed due to lack of understanding, concern over assessment equity, budget allocation, and naming confusion. Another failed vote will continue a decline in community appearance. Our group and the City are working to address these issues for a successful second vote.
